The west central Brazil is an area that can be divided into two parts:
The Planalto, formed of savannah area, with a well defined climate in 2 periods, rain and drought, and width the "Mato-grosso-goiano", lowlands from which come the sources of the Tocantins and Araguaia rivers. The village of Pirenópolis is at the limit of these reliefs. The village lies at the foot of Pireneus, part of the division of planalto.

Habitat : Type cerrado do the clearing and wet Flowering : June - August Fructification : August Description : Perennial herb possessing leaves 25 cm long and 5 mm wide, the base is red brown. The flower stalk can reach 50 to 80 cm in height. The inflorescence is almost spherical (1 to 2cm) and the color is light brown to dark brown. The color of flowers is yellow.
